Our children are of great importance; we all wish that they grow up safely, protected from dangers that could limit or prevent their development. Despite our aspirations, in our daily lives we are confronted with the reality that children, of all genders and from all socio-economic backgrounds and cultures, are endangered by a variety of ‘risk’ factors. When children are adversely impacted, it means they are not receiving the protection they so vitally need.
The education of children is essential for the evolution of a conscious community. The responsibility for this lies not only with the parents, family and teachers but also with the surrounding community and broader society. And so, the protection of children is always a shared responsibility; comprehensive protection can only be provided when we are united in our actions.
